October 21st 2011 - Got around to investigating a clicking sound the engine was making. It turned out one of the rocker arms had gone bad and several others were going bad. It seems that Proform's design of the roller pin on the rocker is a poor one. The pin is press fit on only one side. If the press fit comes loose the pin is free to work it's way out, as happened with this rocker.
Replacement rockers provided by Orange Engine are PRW brand. Orange Engine would have installed them for me, but since I already had it apart in my garage, I went ahead and did it.
New rockers installed.
November 3rd 2011 - My horns came back from being rebuilt by The Horn Works. They look and sound great.
November 19th 2011 - Been working on the car alarm and stereo installation. Takes a while when you are trying to hide it and do a somewhat tidy job on the wiring. The car alarm will not be covered here, for obvious reasons.
The ingredients.
To keep a low visual profile, I took a stock parchel shelf and made cutouts in it for the speakers, then covered the whole thing with grill cloth and painted it.
Amp and equalizers installed in a box I made in the trunk. The equalizers will get covered with a panel and the forward area will be holding car repair items. The whole thing is setup with a big molex connector so I can pull it out and leave it at home when I take the Impala to judged events.
